CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS FOR BETTER RELATIONSHIPS
Conflict is inevitable in our very demanding world where differences of opinion about people, ideas and processes can be very disruptive for individuals and organisations. Therefore, it is imperative for organisations to create and nurture a culture where individuals can have difficult conversations that help resolve issues and conflicts in an amicable and constructive manner. This will help teams function better across levels, departments, and geographies, leading to better productivity, and improved internal and external relationships.
The Mediation Mantras Crucial Conversations Skills Development Programme is a customised for leaders and organisations that want to improve collaboration and the sentiment with internal and external stakeholders.
The programme will provide insights on the causes of people-related issues, and help leadership teams gain understanding and skills that will help them address specific people-related issues they see in the company.
For example, the programme highlights the presence and impact of unconscious biases, unmoderated language, and destructive behaviour, on team sentiment and performance. It will empower participants with crucial conversation skills that encourage collaboration, provide constructive feedback, and reduce stress in the workplace.
The programme is designed to help enhance participants take the high ground and see things from a larger perspective, as well as enhance their abilities to take wiser decisions on critical short-term activities.
The programme is customised keeping in mind team members’ diverse skills and experiences, and it is calibrated to the organisation’s culture and nature of business.
“We believe that there can be dramatic improvements in a team’s performance if people in the teams learned and practiced the skills of having ‘difficult conversations’ at crucial moments when it really matters.”

CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS SKILLS PROGRAMME ELEMENTS
Listening & Analysis
A critical part of conflict resolution and having crucial conversations, is listening.
To help participants experience the process, we administer a confidential, anonymous pre-workshop questionnaire that gets them to contemplate on their own issues, feelings, and needs, which is great practice for having effective crucial conversations with others.
Experience & Learning
The programme includes day-long in-person interactive training workshops that bring the issues and possible solutions to the table.
The workshops bring knowledge, experience, and best practices from different fields into the room, and include fish-bowl exercises and role-plays that enhance collective learning and help develop a mediation mindset.
Reviewing & Strengthening
Our Crucial Conversations Skills Development Programme includes periodic follow ups, for as long as you choose.
We review and strengthen the learnings, practice, and effectiveness of the skills gained, and provide personalised guidance and mentoring wherever required or requested.
“Emotionally charged teams can treat conflict as a threat, or they can treat conflict as an opportunity to grow. This insight plays a significant role in our Crucial Conversations programme, and helps participants move from a negative win-lose mindset to a positive win-win mindset.”
Mehernosh Shapoorjee, Co-Founder - Mediation Mantras
PARTICIPANT TESTIMONIALS
Each workshop was customised for the participants, the organisation, and their nature of work.
In the past one year, over 175 individuals have participated in workshops that have been customised to focus on “How to have difficult conversations”, “Masterclass in Conflict Management: How to Have Crucial Conversations”, “How to Communicate in Difficult Situations”, and “Crucial Conversations for Better Relationships”.
Mediation Mantras has conducted these sessions for a group of twenty Ananta Aspen Fellows, nurses and counsellors at CanSupport, a group of women leaders at Vital Voices, the leadership of an educational institution, senior managers at an Indian MNC, and for commanders of an Indian paramilitary force.
"This workshop gave me opportunity to change the approach in tackling difficult situations. It ignited consciousness that was buried and opened up the scientific temper in me, to tackle difficult situations in a conscious and scientific approach. This kind of workshop should be conducted among all ranks in the force and also among family members.”
Assistant Commandant, Paramilitary Force
“What I liked most was the self-realisation areas – the responses and areas that I myself need to work on. Would love to have follow up sessions.”
Healthcare Professional, Indian NGO
“It was a very interactive session. Spelt out the concepts clearly. Session having connect, real life examples shared by mentors - that gave actual usage of tactics for us in real world.”
